Description¶
The practitioner steps forward with the right foot while maintaining an upright posture. The rear foot remains in place and carries most of the body weight.
The movement is performed with the toes of the front foot and alternates between two positions:
- The big toe is lifted while the other toes remain pressed against the floor
- The four smaller toes are lifted while the big toe remains grounded
The heel stays in contact with the floor and the upper body remains stable.
Purpose¶
- develop independent toe control
- strengthen stabilizing muscles in the foot
- improve balance under asymmetric load
- prepare the foot for stances and movement
- enhance ground contact
Key technical points¶
- isolate movement to the front foot
- keep the heel grounded
- maintain stable posture
- controlled rhythm
Comment¶
This exercise introduces unilateral loading and continues the progression from bilateral activation in the previous exercise.
