5. Short description¶
The practitioner stands in a natural stance.
The exercise trains mawashi uke, a circular blocking motion.
Movement:
- one arm circles upward and forward
- the other moves opposite
Performed in four directions:
- front
- side
- back
- down
Movement is rhythmic and controlled.
6. Purpose¶
The exercise aims to:
- activate shoulders, elbows and wrists
- improve coordination
- develop understanding of circular blocking
- prepare for uke techniques
- improve mobility
