2. Romaji instruction

Hai, naore.
Hidari sanchin no yoi. Kamaete.

Hai, chikara gasshō.
Ichi, ni, san, shi, go, roku, shichi, hachi, kyū, jū.

Hai, yubi o dashite.
Hai, chikara o irete.
Ichi, ni, san, shi, go, roku, shichi, hachi.

Hai, te o futte.

Hai, te o kosuri awaseru yō ni ugokashite.
Ichi, ni, san, shi, go, roku, shichi, hachi, kyū, jū.

Hantai.
Ichi, ni, san, shi, go, roku, shichi, hachi, kyū, jū.

Hai, te o futte.

3. Translation

Return.
Left sanchin ready position. Kamae.

Press the palms.
One to ten.

Extend the fingers.
Apply tension.
One to eight.

Shake the hands.

Rub the hands together.
One to ten.

Reverse.
One to ten.

Shake the hands.
Return.


4. Counting

Ichi – Ni – San – Shi – Go – Roku – Shichi – Hachi – Kyū – Jū
(Some parts use eight counts)


5. Short description

Performed in hidari sanchin no yoi, providing a stable base.

The palms are pressed together (gasshō) with constant tension.
Then the fingers are extended and pressed against each other.

Hands are shaken to release tension.

Next, a rubbing motion is performed along the body’s centerline.

The movement is repeated in both directions.


6. Purpose

The exercise aims to:

  • strengthen fingers, palms and forearms
  • improve grip and finger control
  • prepare joints and tendons
  • increase circulation
  • support open-hand techniques
