Description¶
The practitioner sits with one leg extended forward and the other drawn in toward the hip.
From this position, the upper body rotates toward the extended leg while bending forward.
The movement is driven from the hips and torso. The goal is to bring the chest toward the thigh of the extended leg.
Each count deepens the position.
The exercise is performed on both sides.
Purpose¶
- increase hamstring and hip flexibility
- improve rotational mobility of the spine
- develop control in asymmetrical positions
- prepare for rotational techniques
Key technical points¶
- rotate toward the extended leg
- initiate movement from the hips
- maintain a long spine
- gradual progression
Comment¶
This exercise combines forward bending with rotation, developing mobility across multiple planes.
