Description

The practitioner stands in shizen tai with upright posture and the hands at the sides of the belt.

The movement is performed simultaneously with both feet and alternates between two positions:

  1. the big toe is lifted while the other toes are pressed into the floor
  2. the four smaller toes are lifted while the big toe remains in contact with the floor

The movement is performed in a controlled manner in time with the count, without any other movement in the body.

Purpose

  • activate the foot
  • improve control of the toes
  • increase mobility in the joints of the foot
  • prepare the foot and lower leg for load-bearing

Technical key points

  • isolate the movement to the toes
  • maintain a stable posture
  • even weight distribution
  • work in a controlled manner
